A Note On The New Name + Free E.E. Cummings Printable

Free EE Cummings Printable

Hey, hey! As you can see, we’ve had a little makeover on the blog, so I wanted to leave a note for you all about why that went down. If you clicked for the free printable (it’s ok, I still like you), feel free to skip to the bottom to download.

Why the name change?

A few months ago I opened a shop on Etsy called “Darling & Sailor Design Suite.” I’ve been having so much fun designing over there that eventually it just made sense to merge my projects under one coherent brand name.

What does Darling & Sailor mean?

I’ve always loved the poem by E.E. Cummings that reads:

I love you much
most beautiful
darling
more than anyone
on the earth
and I like you
better than every
thing in the sky.

After my sailor and I got married, he gave me a lovely, enormous sign with that poem painted on it to hang on our wall.

When he is at sea, he reminds me look at the sign he gave me and remember that that I’m his darling, and that I’m loved. So ultimately this name has a deeper significance to me, and is well-suited to the content of this blog.

Is anything else on the blog changing?

No, this is primarily an artistic change. The blog will remain focused on sharing California life and style, travel, and the other things that have always interested me enough to share, including books and home decor.

  1. I’m loving the new look! And I had no idea you had an Etsy shop so I’m going to have to go check that out next haha I used to love designing and really wanted my own design business at one point, but I never ended up following through with it. I feel like my artistic and creative abilities wouldn’t last lol I’d eventually run out of ideas.

    1. Thank, Keating! Yes, the design shop has been a fun project. That’s what I started working on when I went on hiatus before (among other personal family things). Although, a lot of it ends up with me designing things that aren’t necessarily my taste because I am following someone else’s vision for it. But I love seeing what different people love and want for their blog :)
