Most military wives will- at some point- spend time living outside their military community. Whether its crashing with family during a deployment, staying in your home state while hubby does an independent assignment, or simply choosing to live farther from base in order to buy a home, many of us have had a taste of what life is like as a military wife outside of our military support system.
With three sleepless months behind us and a long underway before us, this weekend was a welcome reprieve. No thrilling adventures; just the flawless simplicity of a weekend full of old friends, familiar places, sunshine, wine, and laughter.
Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground…[and] when you’re at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on. TEDDY ROOSEVELT
Today in honor of Military Spouse Appreciation Day, I decided to take part in a link-up hosted by two military spouse blogs: Somewhere Over the Camo and Marathons and Dog Tags. Answering their questions is an awesome self-reminder of why I began this blog in the first place, and seeing the other spouses taking part reminds me that no matter how different our military journeys, we all share the similar thread of finding the strength to care for our families through all the up and downs of this (often unexpectedly) beautiful journey.
