Is it just me or is there something inexplicably charming about old lighthouses? Living in Newport, RI for a brief time cultivated an irrevocable craving in me to know and explore the stories behind the beautiful old archicture in the cities we live, so I was a little giddy when we decided to spend a bright Saturday morning exploring the old lighthouse on the bluffs of Point Loma.
This gift was particularly inspired by the wedding couple’s ambitious honeymoon: Paris, Rome, Australia, and the Bahamas (Um, take me with you, please? I’ll carry your luggage and sleep in the hall). However, this idea would work just as well with a couple going to one location on their honeymoon (with a modification I explain in Step 2). I had so much fun shopping for and putting this together that I thought I’d share it for anyone else looking for an outside-the-registry-box idea this wedding season!

Happy Mother’s Day! I love Mother’s Day because I have been blessed with the most amazing Momma and I love an excuse to unabashedly proclaim how awesome she is.
I sat down to write her card yesterday and- as I thought about what to tell her- I realized just how much her wide-open heart has taught me, and how her daily example has inadvertently prepared me for this adventurous life we lead. And so, in the hopes it helps you embrace this life as much as it has for me, here is some of the wisdom I have learned from her these past 26 years…
